Windows backup file (old file). This file is safe, but if you want to be secure about that, your may check it using antivirus program or antispyware. Sometimes it happens that virus makes its copies named by random file name that in case of need this virus could restore itself. Commonly, these copies are in c:\windows\ and c:\windows\system32\ folders with extensions: exe, ex_, tmp, com, txt, eml, vbs, htm, msg etc. If you have suspicions, scan all your system using antivirus, after that using antispyware. It is the best to do that in safe mode. If you want to enable safe mode do the following: Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. When the Boot menu appears, select "safe mode" to start, and then press ENTER. You can make a point about this file, if you have any thoughts.
