Be careful as holidays are very profitable season for scammers

The holidays season is just wonderful as it is all about giving and receiving, however it may be unpleasantly disturbed by falling in to a scammers' trap and having to deal with scam related problems. One of those traps – a holiday skin for your Facebook page.
If you come across a Facebook page called Christmas page for free! Limited time be carefull as it is exploited by scammers. It is closed so in order to see the content and get your Christmas theme for Facebook they ask you to like the page. But instead, they redirect you to their page where they try to install a malicious plugin for your browser – therefore you will only be asked to press continue once for the spyware to be installed fully.
This type of malware is called Free Cheesecake Factory Coupons also known as TROJ_REDIR.CU and even though it does not cause any harm to your personal information or your computer, it completely floods your Facebook page with status updates such as Get your Christmas theme now, Free Facebook themes, etc., therefore more and more of your friends may fall in to the same trap and the malicious program would quickly spread.
There are hundreds of malicious programs that are flowing around while camouflaged in a pretty holiday wrapping, therefore be very careful when downloading and installing various apps, especially from sources you do not know or trust. Remember, even though this particular piece of spyware does not do any harm to your personal information it does not mean that the next will not do harm as well.
