Recently a new phishing attack was noticed. This time hackers use Yahoo! for their malicious intentions. Cybercriminals send email masquerading as “The Yahoo! Mail Team” which warns and asks users to confirm their accounts by replying to the letter and sending personal information including passwords.
The latest scam subject is “Update your Account”. If you noticed you’ve got this letter to your email, ignore it. With the fake mail comes text that says if you do not update your account Yahoo! will close it for a few security reasons.
It is understandable that for Yahoo! users to identify this letter as a fake is quite difficult. When victim opens the letter and replies to it their personal data and passwords will be sent to hackers and not for the Yahoo! Mail Team.
Sevice.mailling21@yahoo.com.hk is a phishy email address that belongs to hackers. Avoid send any information to that address.
Be aware that there is no company that asks to provide your username and password through an email. If you’ve notice someone is asking such information be sure that this is an attempt to trick you into providing your personal information.
