Can’t open EXE files? We have a solution

Modern computer infections are especially pesky as they annoy victims in every possible way. Frauds like Windows Security System 2010 , Win 7 Malware 2010 and XP Security Tool 2010 are able to set themselves to run instead of regular security tools. In some cases the malware launches instead of every application, i.e. when user tries to run any *.exe file. This happens because malware of this type modifies Windows Registry. To set things back to normal you need to change registries back to regular ones. Deleting the malicious registry entries is not an option because those are actually normal registry entries modified to serve a bad purpose. Exe files won’t load normally if the registries are simply deleted.

Manual editing of Windows Registry is a risky task, because a tiny mistake may cause computer to crash or perform less efficiently. This is why spywared.com recommends downloading registry fix file. Click here to download exe_fix.reg and save it on your Desktop. Once the file is downloaded, double click it. You will see Registry Editor pop-up asking if you want to run the file. Click “Yes” and let the fix do its mission.

Exe_fix.reg only works to repair modified Registry entries. You will still need to run anti-spyware scan or to delete infected files manually.

Another option to deal with malicious entries in Windows Registry is running a registry cleaner. If you don’t feel comfortable with editing registry manually, download RegistryBooster 2010 or Registry Mechanic .
