China Posted Regulations

The new "trial regulations" were issued by China's Ministry of Industry this week. They declare that website operators will need to provide their photographs and meet the Internet service providers for consulting about a new course of all sites in the country.
The regulations, which were posted on sites of the Chinese telecom regulator on Monday, demand ISPs to meet people who would like to register new websites and take their photographs. It is also required for all applicants to describe their main web idea and to explain what will the site's content be.
Without the government records websites will loose their domain name resolution efectivelly pulling them off the Internet. About 130,000 sites have beed pulled offline for not having records with the government.
