It is not surprising that scammers exploit every bigger event of the world and Halloween wasn’t an exception as well. Facebook users are targeted again with a new scam. The fake message claims that a girl killed herself on Halloween after her father posted a message on her wall.
Facebook users are sharing this message with their friends very fast. The rogue message reads:
Girl-Killed-Herself-on-Halloween-After-Dad-Posted-This-on-Her-Wall
[LINK]
This is unbelievable.. shocking..
The news is very intriguing for Facebook users because the messages are spreading very quickly and Facebook‘s created security systems are not blocking them. The link is designed to force users click on it which does not show any video. Instead of displaying what you think you would see, you are redirected to a webpage which says you need to „Recommend“ or „Share“ this link with your friends.
This is a perfect hint of you that the message is rogue and you have to stop clicking or doing everything you are told. Scammers are expecting you to share this link with your friends because they need to create traffic to online surveys like this, which earn the scammers money:
If you fall for this scam but realize the mistake you need to delete the message from your news feed and remove every message that you shared with your friends. This means you no longer spreading scam. What is more, you need to make sure your security software is up-to-date.
