Facebook Adware

Gadi Evron one of the security researchers at AVG has discovered a new Facebook adware. He has noticed a new application named as "llkujyh_yjgyh". Gadi Evron claims that he's pretty sure that doesn't mean anything in any language.

This new spread adware also reminded a previous one that was named as "hghh_rtrt". It seems like the researcher wasn't wrong because it is the same adware under the different name.

Adware starts as usual application-pitch that comes with all applications and wants to enter to your Facebook account. After all of the entering information you'll get a file download dialog for a viewer.

An interesting thing is that this may be a legitimate software but adware-supported program. But there are few aspects of that. First of all, Facebook has an option that its developer model allows to be a developer for everyone. It is noticed that they were claiming a "million developers" and that is a suspicious thing.

The second it is a new way of spreading malicious code. It doesn't have to be self-wormy, if you allow it to advertise itself to all of your friends and contacts. Anyway, facebook found it quickly and killed it.
