Fake Virus Total

VirusTotal.com is a well known and reputable free virus and malware online scan service. It is not surprising attackers have chose to use its good name for their malicious intentions.
The malware authors registered virus-total.in. This is an opposite to the legitimate site which is at virustotal.com with no dashes in the title.
The fake message at the page claims:
“We detected viruses activity from your computer. If that is really so, we highly recommend you to install our security tool and keep your computer running at its best.. Please, wait for a moment. You’ll be redirected to perform scanning…”
When the fraudulent scans will be finished another pop-up will be configured asking the user to download a file called security_tool_setup.exe. This is all scam and all files are malicious ones. If you choose to follow instructions given at the rogue website you will end up with Security Tool parasite at your PC.
