Free iPhone on Facebook doesn’t exist

If you’ve got a message that contains an offer to get iPhone for free be sure this is a scam. The message is not real and shouldn’t be trusted.
Sophos warned that the new phishing attack is spreading on Facebook. Users are getting message that their friends received free iPhones. This fake text message was spreading through the social network since Sunday. It invites users to participate in the scheme but this is only a trick of rogue application.
Users may get message that reads:
"Just testing Facebook for iPhone out :P Received my free iPhone today, so happy lol... If anyone else wants one go here: ”
Or:
“Anyone want my old phone? Claimed my free iPhone today, so happy lol... If anyone else wants one go here: ”
The tricky program will send you a link which will masquerades as a reliable link sent by your friends. Those who click on the link will be asked to confirm their entrance to personal information by pressing “Allow” option. Victims that allow it will be hijacked to a web page that is designed to make a profit from unwary users.
Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos says: “If you’ve fallen for this trick, I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for a new iPhone. Facebook users need to learn to think before they “like” and “share” suspicious pages on Facebook. Just because something appears on a friend’s wall, it doesn’t mean that it is from a reliable source, and by giving unknown applications access to your Facebook page, you could unknowingly continue to help to spread scams and earn cash for the spammers.”
