Google Buzz is at its Crossroads

Gmail tool recently was accused for broadcasting contacts. Microsoft and Yahoo are claiming Google Buzz is nothing new. The service, which let Gmail users to update their status and share content from YouTube and Picasa, is another try to compete with Facebook and Twitter.

One day passed after Google Buzz was launched and its privacy concerns had been raised about new Gmail-based social networking tool. The biggest problem is it creates a list of the Gmail contacts who users most common chat or email with. Google Buzz immediately starts following these people and makes the list seen for everyone. In other words, others can see who Buzz users have been in contact with.

There are mitigate features though. Google Buzz shares an information about the users who are in a Buzz only and have set up public profiles in Google. Now, most Gmail users can track down the people  who they do not want to be in a contact with. Furthermore, while Buzz is asking people to fill a public profile before they can post messages, it it possible for them to hide who are they following and afterwords.

However, Microsoft stated, that busy people do not want to use another social networking tool and what Google have done they are already had. Hotmail users may change information through the Flickr, Twitter and Facebook. Yahoo also claimed they had released Yahoo Buzz two years ago. What is more, a Google spokesman had no immediate comment about the issue.
