Personal Security is both fake and harmful application serving the purpose to trick as much computer users as possible into purchasing the program. In order to achieve its goal PersonalSecurity imitates the actions of a legitimate system security software such as scanning computer for viruses and displaying warning messages. However, none of the threats detected by Personal Security are real. The scan results and warnings should be ignored as they are all fake.

Personal Security can be caught while browsing through various corrupt websites which use trojans to download and install PersonalSecurity without the user's permission. Along with the program a number of files are also installed. They are later on depicted by Personal Security as potential threats which should be removed, for a certain price, of course.
