It’s not a big shock that scammers use Facebook as their most lovable way to spread scams. This time they are using hurricane Irene for their malicious intentions.

One scam was found by Trend Micro fraud analyst Karla Agregado. She spotted a video which forces users watch it by providing intriguing title: “VIDEO SHOCK – Hurricane Irene New York kills All.

This scam was spread towards Italian Facebook users because they were first to know how to share the link on their Wall. While clicking links for the video, users are confronted with the „Security Control“ that they need to pass to see next page.

The rogue page requires the users to register to one of the offers and forces them to confirm their email address and provide personal information. That is how scammers earn money and may steal your personal information. It should be noted, that the shocking video does not exist and this is one of many tries for scammers to make a fraud.
