Linguistic and tricky worm is on the wild

According Symantec, new worm spreading via Skype, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Google Talk and other IM‘s programs.

An interesting thing is that this new worm is able to identify user's location and prompt the message in appropriate language. It is designed to use about 20 languages. Moreover, if in any circumstances worm can’t establish the necessary language, it displays the message in English, for example, "seen this?" followed by the malicious link.

However, worm also uses removable drives to spread. Once inside the system, worm tries to infect every removable drive and does that every five minutes. If worm has a clear pass to the drive, it hides legitimate files or folders and replaces them with the pieces of worm. It also creates a shortcut on user desktop to fool the victim.

The main thing to protect your computer and avoid the worm is not to trust any link that you may see suspicious and unreliable. If infected, use reputable computer security software to terminate worm inside your system.
