Mac Trojan is arrived and disguises as a Flash installer

Even if many of Mac users think that Mac malware is rare they should be concerned because a new threat is floating around. According security software company Intego, Mac Trojan pretends being an installer for the Adobe Flash Player browser plug-in.

Trojan spreads through malicious web pages that associated links forces to download and install Flash Player. If you choose to click on rogue link it will hijack you to malicious Adobe Flash site and not to the legit one. The rogue site will bring a Trojan to your Mac which installs and acts like any other Mac installer package.

Intego says: “The installer for this Trojan horse will deactivate some network security software, and, after installation, will delete the installation package itself. Trojan installs a dynamic loader library and auto-launch code, allowing it to inject code into applications the user launches.“ To make things clear, Trojan is able to turn good applications into bad ones and makes them work like malicious applications and run nasty tasks.

Moreover, Mac Trojan collects information about your computer, such as Mac address, and sends it to a server which “will allow the malware to detect if a Mac is infected.“

However, if you want to make sure you will not be a victim of this infection, be vigilant of what kind of links you are clicking and are they legitimate ones. Do not download suspicious products that may make harm of your system. Only download and install the version of Flash Player in a real Adobe site.
