Macs are still relatively safe

There are no viruses for Macs – that’s one of the most popular myths about Apple computers. It’s certainly mentioned in Mac vs PC discussions. If Macs were absolutely safe from infections, there wouldn’t be security software to protect these machines. But should you really be concerned?
One thing is for sure: Macs are not bulletproof. Technically, every single Apple computer is a great field for malware to infest. Even a quick glance at Apple’s security updates discloses large numbers of vulnerabilities that can be easily exploited.
While the army of Mac fanboys grows everyday, the number of Apple computers is still relatively small in comparison to PCs. This kept the users safe from infections till now and it’s going to keep for a while, according to security experts. Another reason why Macs rarely are the target is malware creators being accustomed to assaulting PCs. While Macs are clearly vulnerable to attacks, it’s still early for a regular user to be interested in security software.
Security researchers agree on one thing: protection software for Mac computers is worth considering but it’s far from being necessary. Last year a botnet was created by malware that spread via illegal software. Macs were even targeted by the infamous Conficker worm. However, these examples are solitary and no massive attacks are being launch against Macs at least for now.

'Nazileaks' site is hacked by hacker group Anonymous
Anonymous hacker group attacked German's new site, Nazi-leaks.net. They claim having personal information captured from a variety of extreme right wing websites.
