Malicious SMS manager - a threat for Androids

Kaspersky report states, that a particular SMS app has been detected as Trojan which sends text messages to premium rate numbers located all over the world. This kind of programs was known a long time ago however they attacked phones designed by Nokia. However, 2011 in an extremely marginal year for the whole smartphone industry including Google's Android.
This particular Trojan is known as Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.Foncy. As Kaspersky's malware analyst Denis Maslennikov claims, Trojan was first spotted in September as SMS manager program by the name SuiConFo. It can be downloaded from any unofficial sources.
Trojan works in a very simple way – as soon as it is launched it sends several messages to particular premium rate numbers in all over Europe and Canada. Maslennikov emphasized the simplicity of such a way for criminals to earn money that this kind of Trojan is definitely going to be upgraded and improved once caught. So it is a growing threat to all phone users.
Make sure to research all the apps you install into your phone. Otherwise, you may end up with a huge bill just because of a tiny program running in a background.
