Malware targets Android marketplace

Recently the love lure malware appeared as a “love test” application, an ebook reader, and a location tracker aiming to target Android users. This rogue application is available via third-party app stores in China.
This fake program should be noticed quite easily because it usually asks more than the one normal and legitimate program would ask user to do. Malware seeks use to send and receive SMS messages, monitor the state of a smartphone.
Malware was detected by Trend Micro as AndroidOS-LUVRTAP-B which executes once smartphone is rebooted. Android Trojan uploads victims’ private information to the site that is under hackers’ control. However, this love lure malware have been removed from the affected application store.
