Today is the day when Adobe released its new product called Reader X which contains a “sandbox ” feature. This new version of the program is also available for Mac OS X and Android, however, those editions lack the sandbox.

Reader X is designed with the purpose to protect users from PDF attacks. This new version of the product includes “sandbox” feature which is the core of the Protected Mode. Protect Mode is technology that sets apart system processes, preventing or blocking malware and don’t let them escape or even make damage to your PC.

Protect Mode is created with the need to make users safe against further attacks of malware. Security researchers were very persuasive to Adobe in demanding to create something that will lessen malware attacks.

Brad Arkin, Adobe's director of security and privacy, doesn‘t argue that it will not solve the problems and all attacks indefinitely; however, it will help to prevent big troubles.

B. Arkin explained in company’s blog : “Even if exploitable security vulnerabilities are found by an attacker, Adobe Reader Protected Mode will help prevent the attacker from writing files or installing malware on potential victims' computers“.
