New scam is circulating across the web. Reputable name of ‘Royal Mail’ is already used by cyber criminals to spread malware and mislead its victims.

Rogue email message state that user has got a package which was hard to deliver because of its big size and weight. It seems like this message and email is harmless, but this counterfeit email letter has an attachment as well which contains Trojan horse within.

By clicking on .zip file user is infected with a Trojan. Trying to convince computer users into opening attachment, scammers are using pretty convincing disguised email which supposedly comes from customer@royalmail.com or customer_service@royalmail.com. These are rogue emails and you should not open any attachments from them.

You also need to pay attention to subjects that emails can contain, because they can be different. For example:

• Get your parcel
• Error in the delivery address
• You should come to the Royal Mail office and receive a package
• Cancellation of the package delivery
• Track your parcel
• Track your shipment
• A package is available for reception
• You should come to the Royal Mail office and receive a package
• Delivery Problem
• Royal Mail Delivery information

Do not fall for such a fraud because Trojan infection can cause you serious trouble. Before you click on any attachment or link you get with an email, choose to rethink if you are waiting for any package. Moreover, make sure you have up-to-date security software on your computer.
