Scammers have been long known as a creative gang being able to make use of every little bit of information or event that people may be interested in. Deaths of famous people, scandals, sport events, you name it. Do you remember a recent Facebook Holiday Skin scam? Once more criminals found a way to attack Facebook users – they are utilizing widely disliked Facebook Timeline.

Recent YouTube changes

People nowadays are not very often keen on drastic change. Recently YouTube completely changed their front page and most of the users did not really like it. At least at first. But we think that is is safe to say that now people got used to it and more of them find this new page quite efficient.

New Facebook Timeline - disliked

Statistics show that newly released Facebook Timeline is also widely disliked. Hopefully, in the long run, either people will get used to it or Facebook will allow removing it. However for now, people are searching how to get rid of the Timeline and scammers try to make use of it as much as they can.

How the Scam Works

They are creating Facebook profiles and guaranteeing that you can get rid of the new Timeline just by a few simple clicks of your mouse button. For example, downloading a browser app (especially, Chrome and Firefox), clicking the Like button or watching some video.

Beware as once you click Continue or Like buttons you will get infected. What is more, the spammers' page will be posted on your wall therefore, this will lead to more of your friends getting infected. Also, after you click Like you will be asked to fill a special survey for which scammers will benefit financially.

Be Careful

Usually these kind of scams do last for a month or more, so try to avoid Facebook pages promising you can change the new looks of Facebook. As soon as there is any improvement of the situation or Mark Zuckerberg introduces an option of removing the Timeline we will let you know. Stay safe!
