Great news for Mac OS users - Apple released a security update to Mac OS 10.6.7 that is able to detect and remove the malware which was currently attacking Mac OS users as a trojan horse masqueraded on Google image files.
Apple offers Security Update 2011-003 which is able to trace malware on victim’s computer and send it to quarantine. This update also includes protection from other Mac Defender scam clones.
The Mac Defender trojan exploited some Mac users' by tricking them to install rogue program. Malware convinced users by popping-up numerous fictitious warning messages stating they have many infections on their computer. This forced its victims to install supposedly legitimate virus protection tool.
To prevent installing such malware the best advice is to be vigilant and suspicious about every link you get on your email. Check their legitimacy first before you click on it.
