Attention: Skype is a new target of hackers who gains to trick unwary computer users. According to latest news, a new wave of attacks targeting Skype was detected. This new threat is found only a few days after the emergence of the worm spreading via Yahoo! Messenger .

The malicious message is under the link which is thrown to the Skype window. However, this time this message is more clever than previous one in Yahoo! Messenger . Each time the message comes to the Skype chat window it differs, such as, “Does my new hair style look good? bad? perfect?“, “My printer is about to be thrown through a window if this pic won’t come our right. You see anything wrong with it?“ and etc.

These kind of messages is very tricky because the user can easily fall for this scam and become a victim. It is convincing that “their friends” are asking for advice. Furthermore, the link also shows a .jpg file reinforcing the users’ thought of an image file.

By clicking this URL user gets hijacked to a website with rapidshare-like interface where a .zip file will also be ready to download. The extracted file is actually an executable file with .com extension.

It is recommended be cautious of the links you are clicking. Moreover, users are suggested regularly update their antivirus softwares on their computers.
